History & Milestones

  • 2011 - ISO 14001 Environmental Management System & OHSAS 18001 Occupational Health & Safety Accreditation achieved. RapidShield instant UV curable paint system arrives at QMS
  • 2010 - Brendon Hext (IMS Manager) joins QMS.
  • 2009 - QMS HyperLine™ is awarded Road Marking Product of the Year – Highways Magazine Excellence Awards.
  • 2008 - Mark Llewellyn (Sales & Marketing Manager) joins QMS.
  • 2007 - Investors in People Certification achieved.
  • 2006 - QMS HyperLine™ Registered as a Trademark. New purpose made Lorry Mounted Applicator delivered for HyperLine™ use.
  • 2005 - Peter Le Queux (Head of Finance) joins QMS.
  • 2004 - Following the successful trials QMS remain the only installer of Waterborne Resins for line marking maintenance on the UK's Highway Network.
  • 2003 Trials begin for Waterborne Acrylic Paint on A30 & A38 in Devon testing for durability, performance and reflectivity.
  • 2002 - QMS accredited to the quality standard of BS EN ISO 9001 with SGS Yarsley. Prototype vehicle mounted Waterborne Acrylic Resin applicator introduced.
  • 2001 - Formation of the company by Ralph Clark (Managing Director) and Greg Clark (Operations Director) in a belief that quality should never be sacrificed. QMS introduce Waterborne Acrylic Resin to the UK on a Trial for Cornwall County Council on the Threemilestone Bypass.

Our Management Team

Ralph Clark
Ralph Clark - Managing Director

Founder of our company, with over 45 years in the industry working all over the world for some of the largest companies in the business and at the highest management levels. With his vast experience and knowledge Ralph has witnessed significant changes in the way the Road Marking Industry has been conducted, being at the forefront of many of them. Now semi-retired Ralph is enjoying some quality time at home, whilst maintaining his role as Managing Director.

Greg Clark
Greg Clark - Operations Director

Greg started in the industry in 1990 as a general labourer. Working his way through to the position of Contracts Supervisor in 1996 where he remained for a further 5 years before joining QMS in November 2001 as Operations Manager. As Operations Director, Greg has been at the forefront of developing new innovative products and services, whilst successfully bringing them to market. Greg's passionate involvement in the Lighthouse Charity (Construction Industry Charity giving crucial financial help to families of those injured and killed in the industry) has seen him raise thousands of pounds for the Benevolent Fund.

Peter Le Queux
Peter Le Queux - Head of Finance

Joined QMS in February 2005, enhancing the Management structure whilst providing vital knowledge and experience and heads up our Finance Department. Before Joining QMS, Peter worked for many years as a Foreign Currency Trader in the Financial Markets in several European Cities, including London, Paris and Madrid. Peter has travelled all over the world, which enabled him to learn several languages which has helped us to secure lasting relationships with our continental partners.

Mark Llewellyn
Mark Llewellyn - Sales & Marketing Manager

Joined QMS in October 2008, creating a new role within the company and heading up our Sales and Marketing Department. Mark has worked within the construction industry for the last thirty years with some of the largest National Construction and Regional Civil Engineering and Surfacing companies. With his knowledge, experience and contacts within the industry, is helping us to maintain our prominence within the Road Marking and Specialist Surfacing industry.

Brendon Hext
Brendon Hext (CMIOSH Rmaps) - Contracts Manager

Joined QMS in September 2010 as our Integrated Management Systems Manager, Brendon has brought a wealth of experience and knowledge, one of his first projects was to gain certification for the company of ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001, combining our existing ISO 9001 to form an Integrated Management System. With his previous contracting experience, Brendon has since developed his role within the company and is now the Contracts Manager heading up the operational team.
