Why should we use Preformed Thermoplastic?
Preformed Thermoplastic is a highly durable non-slip marking system that provides a long term solution for creative playground markings.

Can you do conventional paint playground markings?
Yes we can, although this is normally restricted to court markings, netball / tennis etc. For increased durability and long-term colour retention we promote the use of Preformed Thermoplastic.

How can we keep our new court looking good?
We recommend an annual pressure wash with a mild detergent.

How soon after the court has been marked can we use it?
For a full colour coating we recommend 48 hours. For demarcation lines only, 4 hours.

How fast is the ‘Fast Cure’ system?
The Methacrylate fast cure system reaches full cure in approximately 1 hour, allowing the site to be fully swept prior to opening to traffic.

Can you apply Addastone / Addaprint to an existing surface?
Yes. The system is designed for this exact purpose. Provided the substrate is of sound construction the Addagrip range of products can be installed in most locations.

How do we keep the Addagrip system clean?
We recommend an annual clean using a pressure washer and a mild detergent.

How long will it take to do?
This depends on the site location and available access. A private driveway of approximately 50m2 will pressure washed, primer coated followed by resin and aggregate and finished with an acrylic sealer would normally be completed in three days.

HyperLine™ - Click here for details

A thin paint system….how long will it last?
The system has been used throughout the world for many years. We have carried out extensive testing with the system over the past five years in the UK through an independent materials laboratory and have test results in excess of 150mcd after 24 months.

Can QMS HyperLine™ be applied in urban areas?
We believe in promoting the use of various materials in different locations. The longitudinal road markings on a motorway or trunk road will not be subjected to the same level of abrasion as a busy traffic light junction in a city centre. We promote the use of Preformed Thermoplastic and Cold Applied Methyl Methacrylate systems together with conventional Screed Thermoplastic in urban areas. We do however have a yellow / deep cream waterborne paint system for the overmarking of yellow lines, an ideal solution for minimising material build-up and potential drainage problems.

How quickly does it dry?
The dry time is comparable to Sprayed Thermoplastic ie. under 1 minute (depending on ambient temperature). After the initial dry time, the system can be trafficked with little risk of line tracking. The system continues to harden after the dry time until full cure has been reached after approximately 20 minutes.

Why is it so much more reflective than Thermoplastic?
The varying sizes of glass beads have a unique coating that works in tandem with the acrylic resin. When the two products come together they lock to each other eliminating "plucking out" of the glass beads through vehicle movement, a common cause of poor reflecting thermoplastic road markings.

How many parking spaces can I fit in my car park?
The standard size for a parking space is 2.4m x 4.8m. Between blocks of parking bays, you should allow 6m. These sizes can be reduced although this is not advised. We can measure your parking area and assist you in the design of your parking layout at no additional charge.

How many disabled parking spaces do I require to comply with the DDA?
DDA suggests 6% of the total parking area should be designated for Disabled Drivers.

What size is a disabled parking space?
The standard size for a disabled parking space is 2.4m x 4.8m with a surrounding hatched area to the right and front 1.2m wide. The symbol is to be 1.4m high.
