Devonport Landing Craft Co-location Project
March sees QMS complete a major line marking contract for the Devonport Landing Craft Co-location Project (DLCCP) for Client Debut Services through the main contractor Mansell Construction Services Ltd. The DLCCP is a new £26 million pound waterfront training facility in the Devonport Naval Base for 10 (Landing Craft) Training Squadron as part of 1 Assault Group Royal Marines and 539 Assault Squadron Royal Marines to enhance the delivery of amphibious operations and training.
The line marking contract consisted of initial consultation advising on the most suitable materials available. Given the mixture of tarmac and concrete surfaces, the high wear anticipated through military vehicle use, to areas that only required light duty paint for foot traffic. The result required several different material types to be used, including Methyl Methacrylate, Thermoplastic and One Pack Epoxy Paint.
The contract was completed successfully on time and within the initial target cost.
