A glorious day saw thousands of runners take to the streets of our nation’s capital to take part in the 2014 London Marathon; one of those runners was our very own Greg Clark.
It took Greg a little over 5 hours to reach the finish line earning himself a well-earned bottle of ‘Trooper’! An amazing feat considering that as Greg put it, “the only time I’ve run before this, is from the front door to the car when it’s raining”. This really does pay tribute to the many hours spent training around the hills of Greg’s hometown of Totnes in some atrocious weather.
Greg ran 'The London' in aid of The Lighthouse Construction Industry Charity. This hard working charity has given over £11 million to 12,000 individuals or families of those within the Construction Industry who are unable to work through Accident, Illness or Injury. With an astonishing 97% of every pound raised goes directly to beneficiaries, meaning every penny raised really does count.
We would like to give our sincere and heartfelt thanks to everyone that has donated to Greg's London Marathon charity run in aid of the Lighthouse Club. The huge generosity of family, friends, colleagues and companies has been truly heart-warming, so far totalling an astonishing £4,142.10. Greg will be leaving his JustGiving page up for the next 2 weeks, giving those who wish to donate time to do so and help Greg reach his target of £5,000.
We would like to thank the following companies who very kindly supported and sponsored Greg for his London Marathon bid:
E & J W Glendinning
EM Highway Services
Steve Hoskin Construction
W J Roadmarkings
