Paignton Academy Student Designs QMS Vehicle Livery
In December 2015, QMS welcomed work placement student, Jake Smith, from Paignton Academy to join the office staff for a week of work experience.
During his time with QMS, Jake worked with the Management Team learning about the Highways Industry and tried his hand at Estimating, Contract Programming, Health and Safety Management, Finance and Marketing. A fast learner Jake picked up the foundations in each discipline quickly, demonstrating a particular aptitude for graphic design.
With the QMS HyperLine™ Truck, Mary, scheduled for a facelift, Jake was asked to redesign the vehicle livery.
Mary is responsible for the delivery of QMS HyperLine™, a high performance line marking rejuvenation system used for the overspray of edge lines and lane lines along arterial networks. As the HyperLine™ system is installed under mobile traffic management it was essential that Mary’s new look would tie in with the company colours whilst being extremely visible to road users travelling at speed along motorway networks.
Jake took a design brief from the QMS team and set to work mapping out the artwork, creating a clean new look for the vehicle that tied in with the company image.
The finished design was such a hit with QMS staff that the company has utilised Jake’s design on the newly sprayed HyperLine™ truck. Mary’s vinyl wrapping was completed this week and we think you will all agree that she is looking extremely smart!
QMS would like to issue a big thank you to Jake for his help in designing Mary's new outfit and to our friends down at A Signs for doing such a fantastic job with the wrapping.
Keep your eyes peeled for Mary and the rest of the QMS fleet out and about around the South West.
